Internship semester

In the fifth semester, our Bachelor students have to complete a 100-day internship in a company. Here, the students carry out regular work in a company to get to know the processes there. They bring in the knowledge and skills acquired at the university and there is an opportunity for both sides to get to know each other intensively. Some students continue with the company with a working student contract or in writing their final thesis. Companies pay students a set wage during the internship, though as it is a mandatory internship, the minimum wage law does not apply here.

Theses

Most of our students write their theses on a relevant subject in industry. The duration is three months for a Bachelor thesis and six months for a Master thesis. During this time the students work on the topic in the company and are supervised by a professor from the university. Technical support is provided by an employee of the company, who usually also has some input into the thesis assessment. Students receive standard market remuneration.

Working students

In addition to studying, many students have a position as working students in companies, which benefits both sides: our students gain valuable experience and finance their studies, and companies get to know the graduates of tomorrow and the current know-how from the university at an early stage. In contrast to an internship semester or final thesis, working student activity is independent of the university and the minimum wage law must be observed.

With its alumni career portal: malumni-karriereportal, the university offers a platform for internships, theses and working students advertised free of charge. Companies can also use the opportunity to advertise positions for graduates.

Our annual corporate contact fair CAREERSTATION is organized for our graduates, and many companies from the region are represented there.
